We are proud to announce a new partnership between ScottishPower and The Scottish Pantry Network, supporting communities across Scotland through a shared commitment to practical, long-term solutions.

Across the country, community pantries are playing an increasingly important role, helping people access affordable food, build confidence and connect with their community in a dignified way.

At the same time, the challenges facing communities continue to grow. Rising costs, increasing demand and pressure on local services mean that pantries are often one of the most consistent sources of support available.

This partnership recognises that reality.

Rather than focusing on short-term responses, it supports the wider system that allows pantries to operate effectively — including training, programme development and community-based delivery.

Through this partnership, ScottishPower is supporting The Scottish Pantry Network to:

  • strengthen the infrastructure behind community pantries

  • develop and expand programmes such as Prepmate and Tastes Class

  • support practical activity that builds confidence, skills and stability for individuals and families

These approaches are grounded in what works in real life — helping households not just access food, but use it, build routines, and make lasting changes over time.

Community pantries are more than places to access food.

They are trusted local organisations that support people every day — acting as a gateway to wider support and a space where communities come together.

This partnership reflects a shared belief that investing in communities means investing in what works locally.

Mandy Morgan, CEO of The Scottish Pantry Network, said:

“This partnership is about more than funding, it’s about recognising what works in communities and supporting it properly. When we invest in the infrastructure around pantries, we’re investing in people, confidence and long-term change.”

By working together, The Scottish Pantry Network and ScottishPower aim to support more communities, strengthen local delivery, and contribute to a more sustainable approach to food, wellbeing and community support across Scotland.
